The artist.  I recently photographed all of Elaine's new collection (and some old stuff too) for her website.  What strikes me most about the jewelry is how so much angularity and chaos can also be warm and organic.  As a kid I was obsessed with geodes, amethyst and all kinds of rocks.  I see the same type of beauty in Elaine's jewelry, jagged irregularity breaking into curved grace, deeply saturated earthy color, perfectly formed and complex.  It was a pleasure to shoot. I only hope I did it some justice.
